Volunteers play an importnat role in the operation of The Lock-Up Cultural Centre. We could not open our doors to the public without them. Our volunteers work hard to create a welcoming and informative centre filled with history, art and culture.

Do you enjoy visiting museums, art galleries or cultural centres?
Do you have a passion for local Newcastle history, or would you like to learn more?
Are you community driven with a friendly disposition?
Our volunteers assist with operating the museum from Friday to Sunday. As Museum Attendants they greet visitors, maintain installations within the museum, record visitors, guide tours and assist with the education program.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to gain experience in the areas of Newcastle History and Architecture, Museum Studies, and Gallery Administration.
